Today is Tuesday!

If you want to read an inspiring book I highly recommend "Tuesdays with Morrie".

It is an amazing story about a student and his old professor. It is a story about the meaning of life and through death, Morrie taught Mitch how to live. “There is no such thing as 'too late' in life.” The professor, Morrie, while dying from a terminal illness gives his student, Mitch, the last lesson through which Mitch understands what is actually important in his life. Morrie. who has lived a great life and inspired many people, inspires his student Mitch while chatting with him every Tuesday until he dies.

There is also a movie based on this book. However, as good as the movie may be I feel that while reading the book you get a better sense of things. You can really see the images in your mind the way you would like to imagine them, rather than seeing the film.

In conclusion, this book is definitely a life-changing story. I know that after I read it I started thinking about my life from a different perspective. It’s one of those books that isn’t hard to read so if you want to practice your English and, at the same time ,to be inspired by something meaningful I recommend you to read this book.

  1. I always like the book better than the movie.
Ttuth is that I can really identify with this content, because recently I have also lost a great teacher of mine. Dr. Nita Shohat from our college.
I think I'll give the book a try. Was it translated to Hebrew by any chance? (I'm lazy, don't judge!)

  2. I know many people who love this book, but honestly I tried to read it 4 times(!) and never made it to the end of the book. I'm not sure why - I've read other books from the same genre, but I just didn't like this one...

  4. Hi Coral,
This book sounds very dramatic and sad. I can understand why the reading may influence on you. It also happens to me sometimes, when I read books. I return to the reality and realize some insights about life. That's why it is so fun reading books, since we can learn many things.
    Thanks!

  8. I read this book. Although the whole idea of detaching oneself from emotions has really confused, I still LOVED it.
I cannot imagine going through the last stages of my own life and being as brave as Morrie.
