Believe it or not!

What goes on your mind when you think of a museum? Do you imagine a quiet, polished hall full of sculptures and paintings? Or maybe an elegantly furnished room full of antiques?
Well, think again! I'd like to introduce you to a completely different museum – "Ripley's Believe it or Not!" museum.
This is Mr. Ripley's portrait, made of bubblegum

Meet Robert L. Ripley (1890-1949). Mr. Ripley, who amongst other things was an explorer, a reporter and a collector, travelled around the world in order to find the most odd and unusual things. After travelling 201 countries and publishing many of his findings, Mr. Ripley opened his first "Believe it or Not!" museum in St. Augustine, FL, where he presented many of with bizarre, unexplained discoveries. Over the years and after his death, more and more Ripley's Believe it or Not! museums opened up, and to this day there are 33 museums all over the world.
What can you find in this peculiar museum? A collection of shrunken heads, a replica of the tallest man in the world, a head sculpture of bobby Blackburn who wears crocodile-teeth dentures, and many other unusual things.
I have visited the London Ripley's Believe it or Not! Museum a few times, and it was a unique experience every time. The exhibits change place every time, and new items are placed around the museum. So if you are looking for an extraordinary experience, you should check out Ripley's Believe it or Not! museum, I guarantee you are in for a treat...

Here are some of my favourite items in the museum:

Johnny Eck - the man with no legs
Bobby Blackburn, the man with crocodile-teeth

Shrunken Head
:My favourite item
a display made of real ants, that simulates Prince Charles and Princess Diana'a wedding

  2. That's so intriguing! I was just remembering my class trip to London (that's a while ago, I was in the ninth grade). We visited Madam Tussaud's and the Guinness world's records museums. This "Believe it or not" definitely made it to my "to-visit" list. I should start saving up for a ticket now ;)
