I'm interested to know whether others my age would want to see this movie knowing the plot. For whom who like nostalgia they will probably enjoy and not feel childish going to see it because it isn’t animated. Also, comparing to the animated movie from 1991 it has more details and is less simplified, which makes you feel that it is appropriate to watch at your age.
My opinion about the movie is controversial. The thing that I did like about it was, as I said, with mostly the nostalgic feeling it gave me, and I'm a person that likes nostalgic feelings occasionally. Besides the plot is beautiful, as you know. The special sounds and visual effects create a sense of tension and anticipation as the movie goes along even though you already know what is going to happen.
It's the first time that I’ve encounterd this kind of remake, so it is difficult to define the qualities of the movie. Having said that, I was a little disappointed to find out that it is exactly the same as the animated movie: the same scenes, songs and music without any changes whatsoever. The only difference that I found was - the latest version is a little bit more detailed, for example at the beginning of the movie the story of how the prince became a beast is elaborated on, as opposed to the animated version where it is only being spoken as introduction to the movie.
In conclusion, I recommend seeing this movie. If you would like to feel nostalgic and remember the story, it is definitely a movie that is worth seeing and remembering childhood, it is beautiful and thrilling and you'll have an enjoyable experience 👌. (try not to sit next to cheesy people that are so nostalgic that they sing and recite every word in the movie…)

ReplyDeleteI'm working at the CinemaCity, and we sold many tickets everyday for a lot of people from different ages who is come to watch Beaty and the Beast. the film is interesting with the same story but some differences in characteristics.
ReplyDeleteI was surprised they'd decided to remake it so soon after the original animated one, which seems to have come out not so long ago, but maybe I'm just old :)
